Our Wedding

Evan and Emily met in pre-school, at Saint Benedicts, way back in 2004. Who would have thought that Evan, an outgoing and friendly boy, would end up with Emily, a shy and introverted girl. They were best friends up until about 6th grade. Emily was at a football game at Point Stadium with a group of friends when one of them told her that Evan had a crush on her. After that, there was a bit of awkwardness between the two of them. Evan asked Emily to dance at their 6th grade sports banquet and she turned him down! Around 7th grade, Evan and Emily started talking a lot more. They would chat during games of trivia crack and over Facebook messenger. In 8th grade, Evan asked Emily to the winter formal, which she said yes to. This started their almost 10-year and counting relationship. Emily and Evan moved on to Bishop McCort for high school. They had similar schedules for the most part, which was good for Evan. He always needed help with homework. Really, he just didn't want to do it. Throughout high school, Emily cheered Evan on through his many sports endeavors, including football, basketball, soccer, and tennis. He in turn cheered her on during volleyball and tennis matches. They went to every formal and prom together and even both were crowned Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference champions for tennis. Emily won it first and she insists Evan won it out of pity! Evan and Emily were voted "Best High School Sweethearts" in their senior year. Now off to college... Emily and Evan were nervous for this next stage in life, as they were going to different colleges. Emily stayed home and went to UPJ, while Evan chose Saint Vincent. The first month was hard on both of them, but they got through it together. It also helped that Evan came home almost every weekend since he hated school. The first semester was over (phew). Evan had decided that college wasn't for him and switched to VoTech. Evan finished trade school and started his own business, while Emily graduated from UPJ. Evan had always known he was going to marry Emily. On October 23rd, 2022, Evan took Emily to their favorite spot by the windmills. He was acting a little funny the days leading up to this. When they got out of the truck Evan offered to take pictures of Emily, which he's never done before. He told her to turn around so she's looking away from him. When Emily turned back, she saw Evan down on one knee. He asked her to marry him, and she said yes! We've experienced a lot together and are excited to see what this next chapter has in store for us!

Hi! I’m Kara, Emily’s oldest sister. I currently live in Johnstown with my husband, Andy, son, Ian, and mini Bernedoodle (aka Emily’s best friend), Ruby. I’ve known Em since the day she was born, and we’ve been thick as thieves ever since! You would think a ten-year age gap between siblings wouldn’t lend to having too much in common, but Emily has always had a special way of bringing our family together. To know her is to love her - she’s wicked funny, smart, beautiful, and always there when you need her (which in my house, is a lot!). Evan is her perfect counterpart, who constantly puts others before himself and is genuinely a kind human being; I am lucky to be gaining him as a brother-in-law. Em and Ev are a dynamic duo who have been together for a long time and I’m excited to see them take this next big step and honored to be a small part of their special day. I wish them both a lifetime of blessings, happiness, and love!

Hi! I'm Leah, Emily's (other) older sister. My husband, Greg, and I live in Pittsburgh with our two fur babies, Lola and Dusty. I've had a special bond with Em since the day she was born and have shared some of my most fond memories with her. Our little family basically revolves around Emily and to know her is to love her. She always knows how to say it like it is, bring a smile to someone's face, and make everyone crack up with her quick wit. Emily continuously amazes me with her tenacity, humor, and beauty. Evan has been a welcome presence in our family and is the perfect match for Emily in every way. He is kind, selfless, and easy going. I cannot wait to officially be able to call him my brother-in-law. Em and Ev have been together for as long as I can remember and I can't wait to celebrate their love story with them. I'm honored to be a part of their big day and hope their lives are filled with love, happiness, and lots of coffee dates!

Hi! I’m Tara and I’m Emily’s best friend, although I’m sure Evan would like to fight me for that title;) I met Emily in 8th grade when she kept telling me to be quiet and pay attention during volleyball practice, but little did she know the annoying girl that wouldn’t shut up would be in her wedding party celebrating her big day. It was truly an experience to be able to watch Emily and Evan grow together, from the awkward middle school love to now. What they have is truly a once in a lifetime kind of love that everyone dreams of but only few are lucky enough to have, and I should know for Emily and Evan have helped me through many heartbreaks and I don’t know what I would have done without them. They are both the most caring and selfless people I have come to know, and I am so excited and grateful to be able to be by her side and celebrate them on their special day.

Hello! I’m Shawna, one of Emily’s best friends. My family moved in near the Pollinos the year she was born, and she’s been stuck with me ever since. I live in Pittsburgh with my dog, Obi, who absolutely loves his auntie Em. Which isn’t surprising because Emily is so very easy to love. Like a little sister I never but also somehow always had, I count myself as very lucky that I’ve gotten to watch her grow into the smart, funny, beautiful, and honest person she is today.
Emily and Evan are, to put it simply, the cutest. They’re absolutely made for each other and complement one another perfectly. I’m so thrilled to get to be a part of their special day. I know it will mark the beginning of a wonderful life together; filled with love, happiness, and lots of laughter.

Em was one of the first friends I made freshman year of high school and we have been best friends ever since. She always knows how to make me laugh and pick me up when I’m down. She has the biggest heart, which is what makes her and Evan so perfect for each other. They care so much about each other and everyone around them. They bring out the best in one another. I’m lucky to have them both as best friends. I can’t wait to watch their love grow as they build a life together!

Hi! My name is Ian, and I'm Emily (and soon to be officially), Evan's nephew. I am 1 year old and live with my mom, dad, and puppy, Ruby. I am spoiled rotten by Aunt Em and Uncle Ev, and I love hanging out with them! I'm not sure exactly what a wedding is just yet, but I know I'm excited to be a part of it, and I hope I don't drop the rings! I can't wait to see Aunt Em and Uncle Ev tie the knot!

Ian Bernard

Hey there! My name is Steve and I have been Evan’s oldest brother for about as long as we both can remember. I am currently living in Johnstown and work as a pharmacist at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Evan and I have been able to make great memories together. Some of my favorite memories are from our visits to our cottage in West Virginia, where we fish, swim, and kayak from sunrise to sunset during the warm summer months. Even though Evan is my younger brother, he has always been a role model for me. He has grown up to be a strong, smart, and hard working young man and I am so proud to be able to call him my brother! As for Emily, I could not have asked for a better match for my brother. She is kind-hearted and thoughtful. Emily truly brings out the best in Evan with her warm personality and great sense of humor. Her presence as a part of our family will provide such joy and positivity and I could not think of anyone more compatible for my brother. I am filled with immense pride and joy to see this amazing couple get married and I am also thrilled to witness this next chapter of their lives together!

Hello, my name is Nicholas Yost. I have had the privilege of having Evan as one of my older brothers. For as long as I can remember Evan and I have had a lot of the same interests, and being that he was my older brother, I always wanted to tag along with him. He has always been a major role model in my life. Evan has not only been one of my biggest supporters,  but also has always treated me like his best friend and not his annoying little brother. Through all the fights, the laughs, and the tears Evan has always stuck by my side. I know he will always do the same with Emily. I have known Emily basically all my life and I really can’t imagine life without her. She has always treated me like her little brother, and supports me through my decisions. I can’t see Evan without Emily and I truly couldn’t be happier for them. They are two of the most caring and supportive people that I have in my life and I’m so glad I always will. I am so proud that they are getting married and I am looking forward to see all the memories that they will make together.

My name is Matt Boschele. I have known Evan for many years, but we first became friends in high school. Him and I got closer through hanging out and joking around, working on school projects together, and doing activities such as skiing. Evan was one of the first people to teach me the basics of skiing, an activity that I still hold a passion for. I’ll always remember the ski trip we went on with his mom and some other friends. Nowadays we share an appreciation for hard work, visually appealing landscaping features, and learning new skills. I’m proud what he’s done over the years and I wish him and the lovely bride a happy marriage.

Hi! I'm Alex, one of Evan's best friends. I have known Evan (and Emily) since pre-school. Evan and I have shared many great memories and laughs together. From playing sports together, to spending countless nights at Big Dogz, and even giving him a scar on his forehead that will be an everlasting memory of me. Evan is also one of the most gracious and heartfelt people that I know. He is also a very hard worker who will always go out of his way to give someone a helping hand. Now, I have had a front row seat watching Evan and Emily's love grow over the last many years. I remember all of the awkward Saint Benedict elementary school dances where they were the only ones dancing together to 3rd wheeling on some of their dates, to then eventually going on double dates with them! I knew from the start that they were not only going to be high school sweethearts, but elementary school sweethearts. I cannot wait to see their love continue to develop for many, many more years to come!

Hey, I'm Ben! I've been Emily's cousin for 23 years and have known Evan for just about as long. I'm so happy that's he's coming into the family! He's an incredible friend and one of the best people I know. I have countless fond memories of boys night at big dogs, my basement, or at the garage. Emily and Evan are one of the strongest couples and I know and I am so so happy to be a part of their wedding. I wish both of them the best and know they're marriage will be full of joy and love.
