It just so happens that our wedding weekend is the first day of ArtPrize! This is an annual global art festival drawing crowds from all over to Grand Rapids. You'll find art installments all over the downtown area but some of the best places to see the exhibits are The B.O.B., The Devos Place, and the Amway Hotel. Check it out while your in town!
When we lived in Grand Rapids this was one of our favorite lunch/dinner spots! They have so many unique soups that are all absolutely delicious. We also love their grilled cheeses. You can't go wrong here! (They have all kinds of gluten-free/dairy-free options too)
This is one of Emily's all-time favorite restaurants. It isn't a trip home without a dinner at Bostwick Lake Inn! The food is always a hit and they have great allergy-friendly option. It's also right on the water so it's a really beautiful place to sit outside on a nice warm night. Highly recommend!
If you're looking for a good burger, this place is one of the best. It does tend to get pretty busy so better to go earlier than later!
We would grab breakfast here when Emily lived in Eastown. They have some of the best breakfast in the area with pretty great gluten-free options!
Emily loves hole-in-the-wall coffee shops and this was a frequent favorite of hers. She still tries to go back whenever she's in Grand Rapids. She introduced Dan to this spot when they started dating and it quickly became one of his favorites too. They make a great cup of coffee and the inside has warm, cozy vibes perfect for chatting with a friend or reading a good book.
This was a date night spot for us when we lived in Grand Rapids. We would head here for a more quiet, low-key cocktail. The drinks are all pretty unique and the space has a speakeasy vibe to it. Not your typical bar experience!
Grand Rapids is known for it's beer scene and this spot is one of the reasons why! Dan is a big fan of their beer selection and Emily sticks to their ciders. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. They are famous for their Dragon's Milk beers.
