Charleston is home to three beautiful beaches, each with their own unique character.
Sullivan's Island is located across the bridge near Mount Pleasant. It is a quiet local beach and the perfect place to escape reality for the afternoon. If you are going here, you will need to bring your own beach chairs or towels as there are no rental companies. Our favorite beach access is Station 27. There are not many restaurants on the island, but we would recommend Mex 1, Home Team BBQ, or The Obstinate Daughter.
Isle of Palms or IOP is located just up the road from Sullivans Island. It is a little more "touristy" but always a great time. There are rental companies to get beach chairs and umbrellas. Stop by the Windjammer for a drink and beach volleyball, then swing by Coconut Joe's rooftop for some shrimp and burgers.
Folly Beach has a bit of a laid back beach town. We don't make it out this way too much as the other two beaches are much closer, but it is always a great time.
Daytime or night, Shem Creek is always a wonderful time. The creek is lined by several bars and restaurants where you can pop around and experience several different places. Saltwater Cowboy is a great place to grab a drink and Red's is a sports bar where you'll find locals docking their boats and grabbing some food. For lunch or dinner, we would recommend Tavern & Table, Sunsets, or Water's Edge.
