Because a love story 16 years in the making deserves one hell of a party....
We first met back in high school in 2009 — same friends, same parties, always a little out of sync. (Mike insists he had a thing for Emily from day one and was just playing the long game.)
Ten years later, we finally made that first date happen.
What was supposed to be a quick catch-up over a glass of wine turned into five hours of nonstop conversation — about family, travel, careers, future goals, and more than a few high school flashbacks. We closed the bar down that night.
Not long after, we hit the road for a trip from Los Angeles to Portland and back. Nothing tests a new relationship like a three-day road trip — and we passed with flying colors. Somewhere along PCH near Big Sur, after days of laughing, exploring the coast, and trading stories for hours on end, we realized we’d fallen in love.
Five years later, Mike brought Emily back to that same stretch of highway to propose. We even recreated our old road trip photos — just to see how far we’ve come.
Now, we’re trading the open road for a dance floor. And we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you.
