Anthony and Emily “officially” connected through the classic millennial online dating app, Bumble. Romantic…I know. For those who don’t know, this app requires the women to message the men first; however, Emily and Anthony were not strangers to each other. In fact, Emily reached out to Anthony simply out of curiosity and familiarity and asked “Hey, didn’t we go to high school together?” And they simply never stopped talking after that. The more they talked, Anthony and Emily realized they actually go all the way back to 5th grade, singing together in the district G.A.T.E choir. To this day, Anthony will call himself the singer in the relationship, but I think we ALL know who really holds that title. Emily’s mother, Debbie, actually has a photo at one of their concerts—Emily and Anthony standing on complete opposite sides of the picture having no idea the other existed. Middle school and High School flew by, both Anthony and Emily living in their completely different scenes (and relationships). They both went on to live their lives—college, careers, even marriage and starting his own family for Anthony. Life dealt them many different hands full of highs, lows, and new beginnings. Soon enough they both found themselves single, and this is where their paths would cross again. We have all heard the popular beliefs that “everything happens for a reason,” and “timing is everything.” Two sentiments that couldn’t be more accurate for our couple today. It was just at the brink of this tiny little thing called the COVID-19 pandemic—maybe some of you have heard of it—where human contact was pretty much forbidden by the entire world. Leave it to these two to find each other in a time when the world is telling them not to. Or as Anthony would put it, Emily’s dating pool was now severely limited….down to one to be exact. Chatting on an app turned to daily texting and phone calls, which turned to pizza dates and movie nights, and before they knew it Emily was meeting Anthony’s two beautiful daughters, Brooklyn and Peyton. They connected on so many levels, from their strange ability to recall movie quotes to their love of football (even though it's a house divided). Most importantly, they both really love and prioritize family over everything. Their two living situations eventually became one, and to everyone’s surprise—miss Toni Hope decided it was time to stir things up even more. Emily discovered she was expecting a baby girl, and she was the missing puzzle piece they never knew they needed. In 2022, they welcomed Toni Hope Martin into the world and purchased their current home in Lakewood, CA. So the saying usually goes—first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage. But these two never do anything by the book, so why start now? They have saved the marriage for last—knowing that their lives are truly already complete at this point. So why not make things official for this modern day blended family?! Throughout their relationship, the couple found their “happy place” has been vacationing in their own backyard of Southern California. They love visiting the San Diego area and it was a no brainer for their wedding venue. They are so excited to finally tie the knot in La Jolla, CA surrounded by their family and loved ones.

Our wedding will be held at this beloved vintage hotel that is currently in the middle of an exciting refresh! While some areas will still be under renovation during our wedding week, we highly recommend booking here and staying in one of the newly updated rooms to enjoy the hotel's freshest amenities and most comfortable stay! Due to construction, the main parking lot will unfortunately be closed during our event. Valet parking FOR HOTEL GUESTS ONLY will be available for a daily fee just to the right of the original lot, and we encourage guests staying onsite to take advantage of this option. Our venue is located on the rooftop, and the elevators that provide the easiest access are located near the renovated portion of the hotel--another reason we suggest enjoying the newer rooms and amenities if you're able! We can't wait to celebrate with you! And we will meet you at the rooftop! There is a room block in place at La Jolla Cove Hotel &amp; Suites. Take advantage of the beautiful location and visit La Jolla Cove Beach, just a short 5 minute walk from the La Jolla Cove Hotel &amp; Suites! It is a small coastal inlet with little wave activity, perfect for littles and for a relaxing afternoon or sun bathing. Maybe you will hear some of the near by lounging sea lions (but remember to respect their space and keep your distance). If beach going isn't your thing, there is a nearby boardwalk perfect for pictures and admiring the San Diego views!
