The couple met at Emily's previous workplace and Dean's current workplace - BDS. Emily was a new hire when she was asked out for drinks by another coworker, and Dean invited himself along! It was a good thing he did - they hit it off and the rest is history! After dating for almost 6 years, Dean finally proposed in Key West on July 23, 2017. They had plans to go to a nice dinner their first night there, so after Emily was finished getting ready Dean had her come out to their hotel balcony (with a beautiful ocean view!) and asked her to marry him.
