In the enchanting city of Montreal, our story began during a university Model UN trip. We remained friends throughout our undergrad years, taking courses and being part of student council together. We lost touch when Josh went away for his Master’s, but, as fate would have it, we reconnected in 2019 at one of our favourite places, Mccabes, marking the beginning of a beautiful chapter.

One memorable moment that stands out early in our relationship is our stroll through Victoria Park to witness the twinkling Christmas lights (one of Emily’s favourite activities). It was during this magical evening that we felt the spark, realizing that our connection went beyond friendship.

Our journey has been one of growth and shared experiences. Josh led her into uncharted territories, introducing her to the realms of Marvel, Lord of the Rings, and music festivals. Yet, amidst our adventures, we discovered a shared joy in not taking life too seriously, and finding laughter in the simplest moments.

The turning point for both of us came in different yet equally marvelous ways. For Josh, it was watching Emily break out of her shell at her first rave, tearing up the dance floor with infectious energy. One of the many moments etched in her heart was when Josh surprised Emily with a spontaneous night of movies, stopping to get her favourite snacks, including Haven's Ice Cream, on the way.

Our shared interests have become the pillars of our connection—Lord of the Rings, live music, cheering for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the despicable world of Minions.

In a grand gesture, Josh orchestrated a journey back to where it all began—Montreal. A carefully planned proposal unfolded against the backdrop of our cherished memories. From the enchanting Nutcracker performance to a surprise spa day and Christmas market in Quebec City, every moment was meticulously designed. The pinnacle came at Montmorency Park, where, overlooking the majestic Château Frontenac, Josh asked the question that would bind us forever. The presence of a photographer captured the magic of that moment, marking the beginning of our happily ever after.
