Emily and Andrew initially met by swiping right on Tinder (of all places) in the Fall of 2018 at UW-Eau Claire. After figuring out he seemed like a decent person, Emily challenged Andrew to find her in the library to see if he would be willing to put in effort. He found her, and they agreed to meet many more times for homework dates.

When Andrew graduated in December 2019, he moved away from Eau Claire to work for 3M and live in MN while Emily finished her degrees and worked as a Dance Teacher at Danz Kraze. They made trips back and forth during COVID-19 until Andrew moved back to Eau Claire August 2021. They got a dog together named Walter in March 2022. On August 2, 2022, Andrew proposed to Emily using the key "ring" for her new car since Emily does not wear jewelry. Of course she said “Yes” and the rest is history.
