Our Story

One spooooky night at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, Nathan and Emily happened to be on a collision course of love. Nathan had just finished a double shift at Carmine's and was invited to go out to celebrate a mutual friend's birthday. Nathan met up with the group at the illustrious A Dam Good Sport Bar. As the night wore on, Emily spotted Nathan and thought to herself, “hot damn he looks like Matt Damon!”. At that moment, Emily knew what she needed to do, so she decided to sit across from him at a table he had been all night. Nathan looked MISERABLE and was moping in the corner so Emily decided to call him out to try and break him out of his funk (spoiler: it worked). We spent the rest of the night getting to know each other, drinking, and dancing (Emily didn't realize that once she saw Nathan's dance moves that there was no turning back). At the end of the night, Nathan gave Emily a hug, but forgot to ask the most important question, "Can I have your number?". Luckily, on her way home, Emily added Nathan on Facebook and took the initiative to message him first. We proceeded to go out on our first date one week later.

For the next 6 months, we continued to go on dates and eventually ended up at Longwood Gardens in December. After visiting Longwood Gardens, we said "I love you" to each other for the first time. At the time, Nathan was planning on moving to New York for his first career job and Emily was still going through school so we decided to give long-distance our best shot. Over the 2+ years of long-distance, we would visit each other at least once a month enjoying new experiences and growing in our relationship. Ultimately long-distance ended in us moving in together back in South Jersey.

Settling in South Jersey, we have continued to build our life together and grow our family through the adoption of our cats; Brimley, Binx, and Loki. On May 30, 2022, we spent a lovely weekend back near Longwood Gardens where Nathan proposed while quoting Emily's favorite story, "Pride and Prejudice".

We are excited for this next chapter in forever which is set to begin with our wedding on December 10, 2023!
