A bit of a trek, but largest active Volcano in the contiguous U.S. (just means not including Hawaii & Alaska I think). That said, it's a gorgeous National Park with plenty of places to explore...worth the trek if you have the time, or just look out the window as you fly out of SeaTac!
This was from Spray Falls Park Trail during our gauntlet of dates that first week. It's also our first picture together! Fun activity, ranking the interactions you have with passerby's (ask us about the grading scale..)
Near the Kirkland waterfront, this is one of our favorite spots for dinner. House Margaritas, Austin-Style Guacamole, and if you trust Brad's sweet tooth...Churros
Our first date was on Brad's last free weekend the NFL season kicked off. So once we knew there would be a date #2, there was no hesitation to schedule it for the next day. It included bowling at Tech City Bowl & the above items ordered at Cactus.
Emily's favorite PNW hike-
~40 miles from Woodinville, located in Granite Falls (Be warned...6 mile, moderate-hard hike). Good news for you, it's got a great view at the top in the summertime...Bad news for us, we did this one in February.
July 3rd, 4th and 5th the Mariners are in Seattle!
October 15th, 2022, we went to our first Mariners game together. It just so happened to be the first playoff game in 21 years! Thought we had plenty of time to catch some great action, but the game went scoreless for 15 innings. We lasted til the 12th before Brad had to get back to football!
We're so outdoorsy!
Little Si is further south in North Bend (Snoqualmie Pass) where Brad did most of his hiking. This is a pretty moderate 3.6 mile hike. The cool part is you get to pass by the true outdoorsmen rock climbing from the meadows below. It's like you're in REI....but in the wild!
Be sure to hit up the North Bend Bakery on the way back to reward your efforts (you see a theme here with our hikes...)
Other hikes in this area worth exploring:
Twin Falls - 2.5 miles (easy)
Mount Si - 8 miles (moderate-hard)
Ira Spring Trail - 6.8 miles (moderate-hard)
Mailbox Peak - 10.3 miles (very challenging)
Happy Birthday Emily! On a rare free night during football season, we got out with some friends to celebrate Emily's birthday with a couple good swings (and plenty of horrible ones) at Top Golf. If you know us, it's a rare occurrence to see us out past 9pm, this happened to be one of those times!
30 min South of Woodinville!
34 miles from Woodinville, just west of Steven's Pass. We obviously have a way of picking hazy days for our hikes. We were ok with it because Sultan's Bakery (below) was on the way home. (Warning: about a 7mile hike moderate difficulty)
Taking an early hike at Lake Serene? Grab some pastries and breakfast at the Sultan Bakery!!! We love our pastries and desserts, this is one of our favorites in small town Sultan.
Good shopping and yummy restaurants.
Downtown Bellevue is the middle ground between Woodinville (Emily) and Renton (Brad). A perfect spot for our first date, am I right? We went down Old Main Street to the 520 Bar and Grill, just a couple blocks south of the mall. Don't forget to finish the date off with Molly Moon's on the next block over. It worked for me!
This is Brad's favorite local hike. (6.6 miles - moderate) This is a great local spot and is also pet friendly. Even bulldogs make the hike (as long as you're willing to carry them down..)
At the top, definitely stick around to watch the Paragliders plunge off the mountaintop to the valley below!
In the theme of sweets, stop through Issaquah Coffee Co & Paisley's Parlour for a cup of joe & some sugar...
