Our Story

Grayson and I have known each other since high school, but we were never that close of friends. We went to rival schools and were in church youth group together, but our friendship wasn't much more than just saying hello to each other or talking in groups. Ironically, we both happened to be dating other people in high school, but it's funny to look back and see how often our paths crossed without us realizing. We ended up on the same high school senior trip, at each others proms, cheering/playing at the same sports games and at multiple church events together.

Fast forward to sophomore year of college, we were both single, and Grayson decided to message me on Snapchat. I didn't think much of it because I had always remembered him as being outgoing and friendly, so it didn't seem like a big deal. I just assumed he wanted to catch up or say hello, but he clearly had other plans.

I've never been much of a Snapchat person, so I struggled with responding at first, and I didn't realize he wanted to be more than friends haha. Luckily, Grayson had the patience to keep pursuing me and eventually, we started to have actual conversations. It took some convincing on Grayson's part, but eventually I went on a date with him and I'm so glad I did. He came to visit me in Tuscaloosa and we had a picnic on the Quad, and then a few weeks later I went to visit him in Starkville.

Grayson and I started dating long distance and would visit each other on the weekends. He came to Tuscaloosa for date parties, football games, and so much more. Some of our favorite memories are just hanging out with friends at their houses, whether it was sitting on the porch talking, watching movies, or pregaming a date party! In Starkville, we went to baseball games, my favorite restaurant (Bulldog Burger), and had lots of fun exploring outside or hanging with friends at his fraternity house.

At this point, we're now graduated and no longer doing long distance. We're so happy to be back in Birmingham with family and working our dream jobs. We couldn't be more excited about getting married and getting to celebrate with everyone!
