Q + A

What is the final date to RSVP?

Please RSVP by no later than 31 November 2024. This will help us plan the perfect day for everyone!

What's the dress code?

The dress code is formal (but please no tuxes or ballgowns). The venue is in the heart of Cape Town, which means there could be wind - for those wearing dresses, we recommend below-the-knee.

Is there a dress-code colour scheme we need to follow?

We'd love all our guests to dress with summer in mind. We encourage summer and spring- inspired colours. If possible, please avoid dark colours, including full black, maroons, reds, and purples.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Due to the limited capacity of the venue we are, unfortunately, unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those specifically invited on the invitation. We've done our best to ensure that everyone on our guest list knows someone else at our wedding so that no one feels uncomfortable attending alone.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

We love your children! But because the venue is a rooftop, it's not child-friendly. So unfortunately we can't accommodate little ones on our wedding day.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

We'll be serving canapΓ©s at cocktail hour followed by a plated dinner with a choice of entree and dessert.

Will there be meal options for guests with food allergies?

Yes, we'll cater for those with food allergies - please just make sure to answer the question prompt when you RSVP.

Will there be an open bar?

We wish, but not in this economy! We will serve champagne, provide red and white wine on each table, and get the good times flowing with signature cocktails during cocktail hour. If you fancy anything off the top shelf, please note that will be for your own account (the venue bar is card-only, so don't bring cash).

What is the wedding day itinerary?

3:00pm: Our ceremony begins 4:00pm: Cocktail hour 5:30pm: We'll move into the venue 6:00pm: Speeches & dinner 9:00pm - 11:00pm: Dancing!

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

The ceremony will begin at 3:00pm, please make sure you're seated by 2:45pm latest. You may arrive from 2:15pm. Unfortunately, if you arrive after 2:45pm, you will have to wait until after the ceremony to enter the venue.

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?

Venue requirements ask that we start to turn down the music from 11:00pm and last call for the bar will be 11:30pm. We will need to leave the venue by midnight. Luckily, Rooftop on Bree is in the city center so for those who want to hit the town afterwards, all the go-to spots are nearby!

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Yes, there will be, in the form of a cocktail hour! 🍸 During this time, we've set aside 30 - 45 minutes take photos as we'd much rather spend the majority of time after our ceremony enjoying cocktails with our wonderful guests!

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Snap away! We'd love for you to take as many photos as possible EXCEPT during our ceremony as we'd love everyone to be as present as possible.

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Absolutely! Both of us are useless at posting to social media, so would appreciate it. Please make sure to tag us both: @emilystrydom and @southafricam

What is the venue accessibility?

Please note that the rooftop is only accessible by stairs (approx. 3 flights), so consider this when deciding what time to arrive (and what height heels to wear πŸ˜‰) For those needing wheelchair access, please contact us directly as we've got a special arrangement with the venue.

What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue(s)?

We recommend booking your accommodation in the city center or surrounding neighbourhoods and then booking an Uber to the venue. There is parking available for those who want to drive. However, as it is public parking there's no guarantee of a spot.

Is there parking available near your wedding venue?

Yes, there is with a security guard on watch. However, parking is limited. We highly recommend booking accommodation close to the venue and Ubering to and from the wedding.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony will be outside on the rooftop balcony (please manifest perfect weather for us!). We will then move indoors for the reception. Don't worry, if it does rain, we will move the ceremony indoors as well.
