They say all great love stories start at a party... Or at least this one did.

It was a cool September night full of laughter and shenanigans. The moon was high in the sky when Emily noticed a mysterious stranger join the fray. She was taken aback by his warm brown eyes and kind smile. All she could think was “this is the most handsome man I have ever seen”. Without logic or reason, she decided in that moment she wanted -no- needed to share this thought with the stranger before he left.

The seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours before Emily finally gathered the courage to approach him. No amount of expert maneuvering could separate the man from his friends long enough to secure a moment alone. This was how Emily learned that the best way to get a man’s undivided attention is to wait for him outside of the bathroom. Like a stalker.

She was pacing back and forth like a mad-woman when he finally emerged. Without thinking, Emily blurted, “I just wanted to let you know that I think you are handsome!”

The man froze. And why wouldn't he? She had practically assaulted him with that audacious and unprompted compliment. She hadn’t even bothered to say hello! But then, ever so slowly, his face softened into a smile and he said, “Thank you. I really needed to hear that.” The two chatted for several minutes and exchanged names: Emily and Kevin.

And then for reasons they still cannot comprehend, the two parted ways without ever asking for each others phone number.

For the next few weeks, both Emily and Kevin would badger every single one of their friends for information on the other. But it was all to no avail. None of Emily's friends had heard of a Kevin, and none of Kevin's friends had any idea who Emily could be.

That was until one fortunate night exactly one month after they had met, Kevin attended a Halloween party hosted by his good friend. He was making his rounds and introducing himself to the guests when he caught the interest of a young couple. It was by the grace of God alone, that Kevin was introducing himself to the friend of Emily's that hosted that party a month prior. The couple had recognized his name immediately, and subsequently inquired if he had been searching for an Emily.

Gasp! Kevin was overwhelmed with disbelief but enthusiastically confirmed their suspicion. He was, in fact, the mysterious handsome man they had been searching for. Emily's friends gave Kevin her contact info and it was only 4 days later that the two went on their very first date.
