Our first date took place at the Baton Rouge Zoo on March 5, 2021. We were set up on a blind date by our family friend Mrs. DeEtte Leonard. On the car ride there, Tyler’s phone buzzed with the Star Wars Mandelorian theme. When Emily pointed out the theme stating she loved Star Wars, Tyler later confessed to her that’s when he knew she was the one.

Since that day on March 5th, Tyler and Emily have been inseparable. Days shared together are filled with laughter, silliness, and unconditional love. Being together - no matter how mundane the situation - is the happiest place to be.

Tyler and Emily connected over their shared “nerdiness”. No matter the topic - video games, pop culture, movies, TV shows, and more - there has never been a dull conversation between the two. In each other, they found someone to share their interests and passions with.

On the Saturday of March 25th, Tyler took Emily on a romantic day out. First stop was New Orleans to try a restaurant Emily was dying to try - Cheesecake Factory! After the delicious meal, Tyler and Emily roamed the New Orleans mall where they went to the Lego store and built mini figures of themselves. Last stop was the movies at Perkins Rowe where the couple saw the Garfield movie. (Yes, a little kiddy movie, but Tyler knew that Garfield was Emily’s favorite.) After the movie, Tyler got down on one knee and ask Emily to marry him in front of both of their families.
