It all started in October 2022, when a Hinge match turned into a conversation that didn’t feel like small talk. Our first date came in November (a week later than planned, because Emily got COVID and was worried Andrew thought she was flaking). We finally met for a trip to the dog park with Yugi (who was definitely the real star of the show), followed by drinks. Honestly, Yugi was the icebreaker, the chaperone, and the third wheel all in one — though he could not have cared less about Emily and was far more interested in the other dogs. After the holidays, Emily had two dreams early on that Andrew would ask to “make it official” — and while dreams aren’t always right, these ones were clearly onto something. By January of 2023, we were officially dating. By February, we were meeting each other’s families — a milestone filled with laughter, warmth, and just the right amount of awkward small talk. In September 2023, we decided we liked each other enough to share a home (and a bathroom), and Emily moved in with Andrew — along with Mac and Moe. Fast forward to August 2024, when we moved into our own rental house — thrilled for more space and a HUGE backyard for Yugi. What we didn’t expect was the “adventure” that followed: a gas leak, plumbing issues, and not one but two heating breakdowns in the middle of the frozen tundra that is a Minnesota winter. (Big thanks to space heaters, emergency plumbers, and our shared ability to laugh and maybe cry through literal chaos.) But through all the milestones and messes, life was still life — and we’ve walked through some hard seasons together, too. We’ve grieved the loss of loved ones and said goodbye to our sweet cat, Mickey. We’ve supported each other through career changes, challenging days, and the quiet, unseen moments that make love real. None of it was easy, but having each other made all the difference. And somewhere between all those ups and downs, we made a million little memories. We went on scavenger hunts Andrew planned just to make Emily smile. We had date nights at escape rooms, breweries, the movies, and cozy corners of restaurants. We kayaked, went fishing, laughed until we cried, met each others closest friends, and quickly became each other’s favorite person to do absolutely anything — or nothing — with. Then came June 2025, when we made things even more official — buying our first home together. Because nothing says commitment like signing 72 pieces of paper in one sitting and debating how many trees need to be cut down. (Huge shoutout to Rob, Karen, Brad, and Sharon for helping us move into our house and find the keys to the safe to get the engagement ring out of for the proposal. And shoutout to Rick, Jenny, Kayla, Trish, Todd, and Noah for jumping in to help clean up the backyard the very next day.) And finally, on June 15, 2025, in the middle of this beautifully chaotic, deeply real life we’re building, we got engaged. It was the easiest “yes” — even easier than deciding who gets which side of the bed (although Emily did accidentally see the “She Said Yes” cake before the proposal… oops). Yet it was the best day ever as both of our families were there to celebrate with us! So here we are: partners in love, laughter, grief, dog (and cat) parenting, homeownership, and whatever else the world throws our way. Our story isn’t perfect — but it’s ours. And it’s just getting started. 💍❤️🐾

Kim is my older sister and one of the most important people in my life. She’s been there through every high and low—offering honest advice, unwavering support, and just the right amount of tough love when I needed it most. Growing up, we swam together (very competitively, I might add) but those races only made us closer. She's always been my biggest role model—her strength, passion, and drive to succeed continue to inspire me every single day.

We’ve shared so many unforgettable memories: from screaming our hearts out at countless Jonas Brothers concerts, to the first time she took me to the Minnesota State Fair (where we saw Old Dominion)—something I’ll never forget. 

She’s even the reason I packed up and moved to Minnesota after college—I couldn’t imagine not living close by. Having Kim as my Matron of Honor means the world to me. I’m beyond lucky to celebrate this day with my nubnub. 

Kim 

Kayla is Andrew’s older sister, and I’ve had the pleasure of knowing her for just over two and a half years. From the very beginning, I could tell she was an amazing sister—she gave off that cooler older sister vibe (in the best possible way) and immediately made me feel welcomed.

In getting to know her, I’ve come to truly appreciate her kindness, her sense of humor, and how deeply she cares for the people in her life. I feel so lucky to be gaining not just a wonderful sister-in-law, but a new friend to share in this special journey. I’m so grateful to have her by my side as a bridesmaid and can’t wait to make even more memories together.

Kayla

Emily has been one of my closest friends since our sophomore year of college. Bonded not only by sharing the same name—Emily Ann—but also by our time swimming on the same college team, we quickly became fast friends. From training trips where we became inseparable, to always being seat buddies on the bus during swim meets, our friendship only grew stronger. Throughout college, we enjoyed weekly dinners and nights out at the bars. After graduation, our wild weekends turned into cozy visits to breweries and wineries. Despite the distance between us now, our friendship feels just as close whenever we’re together in person. Emily has been there for me through every high and low, always offering a listening ear and thoughtful advice. I’m so grateful to have her by my side on this special day.

Emily 

Valerie was the first teacher friend I ever made. We both started teaching in Hudson the same year, but it wasn’t until our second year—when she joined my school—that we really got to know each other. We still joke about how it felt like she was “asking me out on a date” to meet up before the school year even began! From there, our friendship blossomed through wine and dinner nights spent venting about the ups and downs of teaching. Valerie was there for me during some tough medical issues and even became my chauffeur for a whole month when I couldn’t drive. We’ve shared countless memories exploring new restaurants and breweries around the cities. Though our friendship is now more mid-distance, she’s always one of the first people I reach out to—whether I have good news or need support. I’m so grateful to have her standing by my side on this special day.

Valerie

Q was one of the very first true friends Andrew made—and they’ve been partners in crime ever since. From crushing it on the football field in high school to surviving (and sometimes causing) wild college parties, Q has been there through all the highs, lows, and everything in between. Even though they live in different states now, distance hasn’t stopped them from staying tight—whether it’s hanging out when they can or teaming up for epic video game marathons (and yes, plenty of trash talk).

Their bond runs deep—so deep, in fact, that they got matching best friend tattoos to prove it. Andrew couldn’t have picked a better guy to stand by his side as his best man—someone who’s been a loyal friend through it all and knows exactly how to keep things fun.

Quentin 

Stephen’s been one of Andrew’s closest friends since high school. He helped Andrew come out of his shell and try new things, and they’ve been tight ever since. They’ve spent tons of time gaming together and always make sure to catch up when they can.

Stephen’s also the go-to guy for a fishing trip—someone Andrew can always count on to chill and have a good time. Andrew still remembers crashing at Stephen’s parents’ place and walking over to the fair like it was yesterday. He’s been a solid, loyal friend through it all, and Andrew’s glad to have him standing by his side today.

Stephen 

Moe was one of Andrew’s very first college roommates, and they hit it off right away. After living together, they both ended up joining the same fraternity—and the rest is history. From wild college parties to going shot for shot on more than a few occasions, Moe was always right there in the middle of the action (and usually leading the charge).

When Andrew moved from Iowa to Minnesota, Moe was one of the few friends he could really count on to stay close. These days, they keep the friendship going strong with plenty of video game sessions. Andrew still turns to Moe for style advice—because let’s be honest, the guy knows how to put together a fit.

Moe’s always been a man full of wisdom (sometimes unexpected, but always on point) and someone Andrew trusts. Keep an eye out for him on the dance floor—especially if "Gotta Catch 'Em All" comes on. You’ve been warned.

Henny was basically like Andrew’s big brother in college. They were in the same fraternity and spent a ton of time gaming, playing cards, and just hanging out—usually with a lot of laughs involved. Whenever Andrew was struggling with those tough college classes, Henny was the guy he could always turn to for help and support.

Some of Andrew’s favorite memories are those chill card and wine nights they had with friends, just kicking back and having a good time. Henny’s been there through all the ups and downs, always reliable and ready to have fun. Andrew’s really lucky to have such a solid friend, and he’s proud to have Henny standing by his side on this big day.

Llani has been a close friend to Andrew since their college days, when they first met through mutual friends. Emily got to know her a few years later during one of the annual friends' get-togethers, and it was clear from the start that Llani's warmth, humor, and kindness made her someone special. Whether you're in need of a good laugh or a supportive friend, Llani is always there. We are so grateful to have her officiating our wedding—there’s truly no one else we’d rather have standing up there with us on such an important day.

I’ve known Andy since 2012, when I first met him while visiting my sister Kim at Whitewater. Over the years, we’ve had a few classic “Em and Andy” days whenever he came to visit from Minnesota during college breaks. Andy’s the kind of guy who’s always cracking jokes, giving Kim a hard time, and keeping everyone laughing in the best way. He’s truly the best brother-in-law a girl could ask for. That said… I will hold a lifelong grudge for the time he scared the life out of Kim and I during our first time watching The Conjuring. Safe to say, I’m never watching a scary movie with him again—but I am so excited to have him as our Flower Man on the big day!

Andy 

Sweet Maddy joined the Trenn(Sterger) family earlier this year. She has graced our family with happiness, laughter, and so much love. Sweet as can be, she will be sure to steal your heart as she is accompanied down the aisle by the Flower Man aka her dad. 

Madelyn

Noah is Kayla’s son and our adorable ring bearer! He’s a sweet, kind, and delightfully sassy 5-year-old who keeps us all smiling. He loves his doggies, is always full of energy, and never misses a chance to watch SnapChat videos of Yugi—his favorite pup celeb. We can’t wait to see him make his big debut down the aisle, likely stealing the spotlight (and a few hearts) along the way!

All hotels are within 20 minutes of the venue. Please note that Pine Peaks Lodge is not at the same location as the wedding ceremony and reception. There are also several VRBO or AIRBNBs in the area that could be an option instead of a hotel room. There are 6 hook ups at the venue for campers. Please let us know if you plan on bringing your camper.
