Balboa Island is an essential stop when visiting Newport Beach! There are plenty of shops and restaurants to explore, and you can take the Balboa Ferry over to the Newport Peninsula. Don't forget to try a hippo cookie and Balboa bar at Dad's Donuts!
It wouldn't be a Southern California trip without a beach day! Grab your towel and head down to soak up the sun and waves on the half-mile long strip of beach! As it is a holiday weekend, we recommend going early as parking could be tough!
Many of you have probably heard us talk about renting a Duffy boat, and now you can make it happen yourself! Rent a Duffy to cruise around Newport Harbor and take in the scenes of Newport Harbor and Balboa Island from the water! Advance reservations are highly recommended.
Our go to spot when we want local fish! Bear Flag is also Michael's most requested stop when he visits Newport Beach. If you go, be sure to get poke and the Bear Flag fish tacos!
One of Newport Beach's oldest institutions! On top of the many other times we frequent The Galley, it is a Turner family tradition to get lunch here on Christmas Eve. Incredibly friendly staff, and some of the best breakfast and lunch in Newport.
Eat dinner or grab happy hour harborside at the Cannery! One of Newport's best happy hour deals, and also coolest locations! The Cannery sits right on the harbor and gets it's name from being the first commercial fish cannery in Newport Beach.
The QW is one of the Turner's favorite dinner spots! It is home to great food, drinks, and a fun atmosphere. There is live music every night (starting at 8:30 on weeknights and 9 on weekends). You might even recognize the scenery if you're a fan of Bravo's reality TV franchises...
