Steven and Emmie met on a party bus in January 2017! Steven was having a joint birthday party with their mutual friend, Jenna. On the way back to Iowa City, Steven had made his way up to the front to change the music when the bus hit a fated and wicked bump. Emmie fell into him, and in that moment they both felt there was something special between them and had an amazing first date a few days later.

7 1/2 years later, Emmie and Steven are set to tie the knot, and Zoey, their fur-baby, couldn’t be happier.

Steven proposed to Emmie during a family vacation in Napa/Sonoma Valley in late September 2023. Her family had just finished the first wine tour of the trip at a small family-owned winery called McKenzie-Mueller Winery. They were taking a family photo in front of the vineyards when Steven asked Emmie if she wanted a picture of just the two of them and she said she didn't need one! Steven persisted and after taking a few photos to get Emmie off guard, Steven got down on a knee to propose. Steven proposed to Emmie with his Grandma Nersesian's wedding ring and it was an incredible way to kick off an amazing weekend in California.
