It all started when Ever became the new custodian at the elementary school where I teach. At first, I didn’t think much of it other than being a new person around the school. But then I noticed him. His warm smile stood out, always greeting everyone with kindness. He seemed so friendly, and I couldn’t help but appreciate his easygoing nature.


However, despite his charm, I wasn’t sure he was looking for anything serious and so I carried on with my Ms. Wagner duties. My co-workers, though, had other ideas. They asked if I’d consider dating Ever. My first response was a quick no.


Then came that one Friday evening two springs ago. A few of my coworkers and I, Ever included, made plans to have food and drinks after work. But to our surprise, everyone else canceled last minute-except for Ever and me. We decided to go anyway, figuring we might as well make the most of it.


We sat down and started chatting, and what I thought would be an average dinner turned into something better. Our conversation was easy to have, and I wanted to know more about him. That night, what began as just another dinner between coworkers became the first of many dates that followed.


As time went on, I learned more about Ever- how thoughtful he was, how much he cared for his family, and how he could make me laugh even on my worst days. It wasn’t long before I realized that he was everything I didn’t know I needed. Our personalities, though different, perfectly balanced each other out. And we both shared the same core values which made our differences feel less like contrasts and more like the perfect complement.


Ever and his son, Izaiah, proposed to me on Christmas morning 2023. I couldn’t have been happier. We are both so grateful to you, our friends and family, for your love and support. We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day with you soon!




Todo comenzó cuando Ever se convirtió en el nuevo custodio de la escuela primaria donde yo enseño. Parecía tan amigable, y no pude evitar apreciar su naturaleza tranquila a medida que lo conocía. 


Sin embargo, a pesar de su encanto, no estaba seguro de que estuviera buscando algo serio, así que seguí con mis deberes de la Señora Wagner. Sin embargo, mis compañeros de trabajo tenían otras ideas. Me preguntaron si consideraría salir con Ever. Mi primera respuesta fue un no rápido.


Luego vino ese viernes por la noche hace dos primaveras. Algunos de mis compañeros de trabajo y yo, incluido Ever, hicimos planes para comer y beber después del trabajo. Pero para nuestra sorpresa, todos los demás cancelaron en el último minuto, excepto Ever y yo. Decidimos ir de todos modos, pensando que también podríamos hacerlo al máximo.


Nos sentamos y empezamos a platicar, y lo que pensé que sería una cena promedio se convirtió en algo mejor. Nuestra conversación fue fácil de tener, y quería saber más sobre él. Esa noche, lo que comenzó como otra cena entre compañeros de trabajo se convirtió en la primera de muchas citas que siguieron.


A medida que pasaba el tiempo, aprendí más sobre Ever, lo considerado que era, lo mucho que se preocupaba por su familia y cómo podía hacerme reír incluso en mis peores días. No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que me di cuenta de que él era todo lo que no sabía que necesitaba. Nuestras personalidades, aunque diferentes, se equilibraron perfectamente entre sí. Y ambos compartimos los mismos valores fundamentales que hicieron que nuestras diferencias se sintieran menos como contrastes y más como el complemento perfecto.


Ever y su hijo, Izaiah, me propusieron matrimonio en la mañana de Navidad de 2023. No podría haber sido más feliz. Ambos estamos muy agradecidos con ustedes, nuestros amigos y familiares, por su amor y apoyo. ¡No podemos esperar para celebrar el día de nuestra boda contigo pronto!
