Dan and Emily met the old fashioned way...on the dating app Bumble. Emily liked Dan's hiking pics, Dan liked that Emily's opening line wasn't "Hi."

Despite realizing they lived in different states they agreed to meet up for their first date at an Escape Room in Boston. The date ended well with Emily (in typical Emily fashion) being mortified that she saw people she knew and sprinted away from him. Dan drove home slightly confused and ready to cut his losses but surprisingly the two met up for a few more dates before Dan decided the hour long drive to Boston was too long distance for him.

A few months later Emily reached out to see if Dan would like to hike as friends because he seemed like a nice guy and the chance of him being a serial killer was low. Dan agreed to the hike and... the rest is history
