In August of 2016, Emily moved to North Carolina to attend Southeastern Bible College. Part of the requirements was to pick a Christian service church. She picked Faith Church in Goldsboro, which happened to be the church Alec attended and grew up in. They would see each other around church, but not knowing who the other was, they kept to themselves. Over a series of a few months Alec and Emily both started talking..about each other. It wasn't long until a couple of mutual friends, Alexis and Hannah, got involved and started to make things happen for them.
Of course in the age of social media, that is where the two really hit it off. It wasn't until the end of the Spring semester that Alec worked up enough courage to physically introduce himself and make a move. The two kept in touch over the Summer and traveled back and forth to see one another. July of 2017, they started dating.
Fast forward 4.5 years, they truly are each others best friend. After enduring long distance for most of their relationship, they have learned to rely and trust one another. Looking back on all the paths that led them to one another, they both agree it was God who brought them together. They have been able to see God's hand in bringing a girl from Tennessee and a boy from North Carolina together and becoming each others future spouse.
Currently they are busy tackling new jobs, new roles and cities. Alec is a salesman for Brock Equipment. Emily works in Marketing at the Goldsboro YMCA. In their off time, they work on renovating Alec's (Emily's future) home, travel back and forth from Tennessee, and being with friends and family. They are so excited for this new journey together and they can't wait to spend May 14th with the people they love.
