Things to Do

Savannah is one of our favorite cities and we are encouraging you to explore while you are here! Here is a list of some things to do while you are staying:

Historic District & Iconic Squares

Savannah’s Historic District is full of charm, with 22 public squares offering a peek into the city’s past. Famous sites like Chippewa Square, where the Forrest Gump bench scene was filmed, and the Savannah History Museum are must-visits. Walking through these squares provides a glimpse into the city's 18th-century architecture and serene beauty.

Bonaventure Cemetery

Known for its stunning oak trees and intricate tombstones, Bonaventure Cemetery is one of Savannah’s most picturesque spots. It also gained fame from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for a reflective stroll.

Southern Cuisine

Savannah is a food lover’s paradise. For classic Southern comfort food, visit Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room for fried chicken and collard greens. The Grey, located in a restored bus terminal, offers inventive takes on Southern dishes, while River Street Sweets serves some of the best pralines in the city.

River Street & Waterfront

River Street is the heart of Savannah’s waterfront, offering a mix of shops, galleries, and restaurants. It’s also the perfect place to watch large ships pass through the Savannah River. Nearby, Savannah Riverboat Cruises offer scenic tours of the river.

Art & Culture

Savannah is home to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), turning the city into a thriving art hub. The SCAD Museum of Art showcases contemporary works, while local galleries offer unique creations by Southern artists. For a cultural experience, enjoy one of the many art festivals or performances throughout the year.

Tybee Island

For a beach escape, head to Tybee Island, just 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. With its beautiful beaches, the historic Tybee Island Lighthouse, and Fort Pulaski National Monument, it's perfect for a day trip or relaxing weekend getaway.

Ghost Tours

Savannah’s reputation as one of the most haunted cities in the U.S. makes it a prime spot for ghost tours. Explore haunted streets and hear chilling tales on a Ghosts & Gravestones Tour to learn about the city’s spooky past.
