Rubicon is a relatively rural area without too much to do in terms of entertainment. Most of the recommendations below are within 60-90 minutes of Rubicon in the areas that we are familiar with.
Madison has a unique small-town charm for a capital city with everything centered on the Isthmus. Lots of great food and an opportunity to get out on one of the lakes. The following are a few places you might want to check out:

Known as "Little Switzerland", New Glarus is home to the Spotted Cow as well as several fun shops and bakeries. One of our favorite places is the Dirty Dog Taphaus.
A well-known tourist attraction in Wisconsin housing plenty of entertainment and dining options.
Most people wouldn't recommend that their friends and family go check out their workplace, but if you haven't seen the Epic campus, it is worth an afternoon to walk around it if there are visitor slots open.
Throughout the summer, The Mill is a popular place for people to stop by, hang out, get a drink and listen to some live music. Stop by Seven Acre Dairy next door for some ice cream too :)
