Emma and Michael met the summer of 2019, when Emma's parents decided to sell their home and purchase her great grandfather's home next door. Michael's family was moving from Indiana and happened to purchase Emma's old family home. It wasn't until May of 2020, when all the neighbor kid's were hanging out and having social distanced bonfires, that Emma and Michael started to hang out. After the first few bonfire's Emma and Michaels story truly began.

It started slow, we enjoyed each others company by doing things like getting Ice Cream from the local dairy queen, going to the New Baltimore park, and driving around looking at houses down lake St. Claire. In late June, Michael took the initiative to ask Emma to take the next step, being his girlfriend, as time went on we began doing more and more together. Whether it was going through the detroit zoo lights, going to concerts or going out on the boat, our love only grew.

Fast forward to the summer of 2023, 1 week before their 3 year anniversary, they were on a daily walk with Nala. Emma and Michael had walked up to the Black Walnut Inn and Michael said to Emma that they should go walk down the dock. She said no because it was about to rain and her aunt and uncle who own the Inn were not there. Michael tried once more to get her to walk to the dock but again she said no. They continued on their walk back to the house and passed the park. Michael again tried to get her to walk down the boardwalk but she said no because it was about to rain and Michael's family was waiting on us for dinner. Emma and Michael continued on their walk and made it back to Emma's house to drop Nala off before heading next door to Michael's house for dinner. Michael pulled Emma outside on her patio and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. And that was how we ended up here!
