Things to Do

Atlanta is a huge city with lots of fun things to do. If you are visiting the Atlanta area for the first time, keep in mind that there is much more to Atlanta than just a central downtown. If you only have 1-2 days to visit in Atlanta, try to pick one area per day so that you can maximize your time in that area and don't feel overwhelmed:

Downtown:

Accessible by MARTA from the Airport.

- College Football Hall of Fame

- World of Coca-Cola

- Georgia Aquarium (Largest Aquarium in the US)

- Civil Rights Museum

Midtown:

- Piedmont Park

- Beltline (Multi-use walking/biking trail that stretches 3 miles in east Midtown. It connects Ponce City Market to Krog Street Market, two of the most popular food halls in the city. There are also bars and entertainment along the way)

- Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market

- High Museum of Art (If you plan on going here, admission is free the second Sunday of every month. That just so happens to be May 11th, the day after the wedding)

Virginia Highland:

- Bars (Dark Horse Tavern, Dad's, Moes and Joes, Neighbors) - popular bars for younger crowds if you are looking to go out in Atlanta

Decatur:

- Downtown Decatur is home to some very unique restaurants and brunch spots. Dekalb farmer's market is also a cool experience to check out nearby.

Buckhead:

- Atlanta History Center (Highly recommend visiting. There's a lot of cool history and a famous southern mansion to tour if you are unfamiliar with Georgia history)

- Upscale Restaurants

- Phipps Plaza (Upscale Mall)

Roswell:

- Downtown Roswell (Lots of cool shops and restaurants)

Alpharetta:

- Avalon Mall (lifestyle mall with dining and upscale shopping)

The Battery:

- The Braves won't be in town the weekend of our wedding, but there are a lot of cool restaurants and bars in around the stadium

Chamblee/Doraville:

- If you love Asian or Latin American food, you can't really go wrong with restaurants on Buford Hwy. We recommend going to Doraville or Duluth for Korean food. Good Chinese food can be found in Chamblee.
