Emma and Zack’s story began just over 7 years ago in Muncie, Indiana. Both entering their freshman year at Ball State, their paths crossed during orientation after a late night snack at Insomnia Cookies. They exchanged numbers that night to stay in touch for the summer and went back their separate ways with Zack in Holland, MI and Emma in Danville, IN.
Their conversations grew longer and longer throughout the summer. When the school year started, they immediately hit it off playing card games, hammocking, biking around, and checking out Tuhey pool. They had their first “official” date at Scotty’s Brewhouse (now Root’s) in the village and shortly after on Sept. 12th officially started dating! The semester continued on with many laughs, ice cream dates, and hard work.
When the school year came to an end, the 250 miles apart on US-31 only made their relationship stronger. They truly became each other’s best friend. Emma and Zack learned over these next few years especially the importance of time spent together, family and each of their love for travel and new experiences. They’ve been now on dozens of trips across all regions of the U.S. and out of country.
Upon graduation, Emma began work as a NICU Nurse working nights at Community North Hospital and Zack began work freelancing as a video contractor in Indianapolis and West Michigan.
Zack proposed to Emma 7/25/24 on the boardwalk of Lake Macatawa. A mustang convertible was secretly parked nearby that they used to head to Saugatuck for a surprise celebration that night with her parents.
They are extremely excited to enter into marriage and can’t wait to begin this next chapter in their life of moving in together in suburban Indianapolis.
