Domingo and Emma met on their small college campus. Most of their interactions freshmen year had been brief. That began to change during intramural soccer.
Domingo was recruited to play on the team of elite players. Emma was on a team of rag-tag freshmen. Now, Domingo will say he rebuffed the advances of the A-list team and joined the underdog team because of Emma. But in truth, the captain of the freshman team lived in his dorm and knew the value of persistence.
On the freshman team, through wins and loses, Emma and Domingo's camaraderie grew. Emma would later find out that Domingo would "forget his water bottle" so that he could ask her for some water. Emma would also later admit that she began to bring a second water bottle just in case "someone" needed it.
The following Fall semester, Domingo and Emma began dating.
Emma has been continuously drawn to and thankful for Domingo's patience, thoughtfulness, and silliness. From writing notes and picking dandelions to applying drops for ear infections, Domingo is a steadfast comfort and Emma's best friend.


I remember the first time I met Emma. Wouldn't you know it she was reading a book. Till I met her I'd never met anyone who knew the combined maximum number of books and media they could borrow from their local library at one time. Emma knows the number. That intramural soccer team is probably one of the worst teams I've ever played for. Best decision I ever made. That's where I first got to witness how caring, curious, and kind Emma is. Fast forward to today, whether she's crafting something for a loved one, reading a book, or coming up with some creative lesson to teach her students she remains the love of my life. I'd choose to play for that team every day. We can't wait to celebrate with you all!
