Idlewild and SoakZone was one of my favorite places to go as a kid. This family-friendly amusement park and water park is located in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, not far from Blairsville. It's one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States, having opened in 1878, and is known for its charming, nostalgic atmosphere with modern attractions that cater to all ages.

Pittsburgh is only about an hour away from Blairsville. It's a vibrant city with tons of cool museums, restaurants, and shopping. I recommend checking out the incline, visiting the Mattress Factory (no it's not a mattress store), or eating a sandwich at Primanti Bros.

Another favorite spot from my childhood, Ligonier, PA, is a charming small town nestled in the scenic Laurel Highlands, known for its historic ambiance, quaint shops, restaurants, and Fort Ligonier, an 18th-century British fort, offering tours and reenactments.
