Downtown Athens has great shopping, restaurants, and bars, and is walkable from any of the recommended hotels. Our favorites include coffee at Walker's Coffee and Pub, drinks at Blue Sky or Allgood, and dinner and dessert at Last Resort Bar & Grill or FIVE Athens (allegedly Kirby Smart's favorite Athens restaurant).

Creature Comforts is an Athens staple, a downtown brewery with indoor and outdoor seating. Grayson's favorite is an Athena, and Emma's favorite is a Tritonia.

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is located down Milledge Avenue and has running trails and gardens to explore. Admission and parking are free. Fun fact - the entire campus of the University of Georgia is designated as an arboretum!
