Emma & Braedon It all started with a simple Instagram DM in November 2019 — proof that sometimes, the best things begin with a tap and a message. Braedon slid into Emma’s DMs (with impressive confidence), and from that moment on, the two of us couldn’t stop talking. We FaceTimed every night, even though we were living hours apart — Emma in Brampton, and Braedon in North Bay. Somehow, those late-night calls turned a spark into something so much more. Two weeks later, we had our first date. And what a date it was! Dinner, a hockey game, a walk through downtown Brampton where we shared our first kiss, and then bowling to end the night. Let’s just say — we packed a lot into one evening, and neither of us wanted it to end. Emma’s first impression? “He’s so sweet and funny.” Braedon’s? One word: “WoW.” We officially started dating on December 1st, 2019, and long-distance became our new normal. Then, in March 2020, the world changed — and so did our lives. COVID hit, and Braedon moved back to Brampton. By August of that year, we took a leap and moved to North Bay together. Emma moved into Braedon’s apartment, and we became each other’s constant in a very uncertain world. From there, life started moving quickly — and beautifully. In November 2021, we got our first dog, Whiskey (the true prince of the household). A month later, we went to our first NFL game together (Detroit actually won, which felt like fate). Then came a road trip to Nashville — unforgettable memories, incredible music, and just a tiny dent in the wallet (worth every penny). Later that summer, we danced and sang at Boots & Hearts, having fun with good friends and even better country tunes. January 2023 brought the sweetest surprise: we found out we were expecting our greatest adventure yet — just a week before heading to Disney with Braedon’s family. It was Emma’s first time at Disney, and although rides were off the table, she got to live out a childhood dream (and sneak in a churro or two). In May, we found out we were having a boy at our gender reveal, surrounded by loved ones. In June, we moved into our first house together — and just a few months later, on September 25th, our son Nash was born, turning our world upside down in the best possible way. And then came the surprise of a lifetime. On a drive down to Barrie — which Emma thought was just to pick up Maggie — Braedon had other plans. With Nash by our side, and Emma’s mom and Maggie’s dad capturing every moment, he got down on one knee and asked the question that changed everything. Spoiler alert: she said yes. We celebrated by heading back to North Bay to play in a charity slow-pitch tournament (classic us), and Nash’s first birthday party turned into the sweetest celebration of our future. We’ve built a life full of laughter, road trips, late-night talks, Netflix marathons, and more love than we ever thought possible. We’ve already made so many memories — and we can’t wait to make a lifetime more, together.
