Somehow, during three years at the same tiny university, we managed to completely avoid each other—until 2017, when fate (and Acadia Residence Life) finally intervened. We were both hired as Senior Resident Assistants: Emma in the reverred Eaton House, and Kyle in the obviously inferior Chipman House. Sparks flew somewhere between rivalry and chaos.

From ridiculous house events to questionable decisions at The Vil and The Axe, we went from writing incident reports to writing our vows. Who knew mandatory staff meetings and late-night rounds would lead us here?

Fast forward to post-grad life in Halifax, where we moved in together after the COVID lockdown—into what was arguably the smallest apartment known to man (we’re talking “the fridge is in the living room” small). But we made it home, filling it with love, laughter, and the pitter-patter of tiny feet… from our three cats: Winston, Elliot, and Noah (a.k.a. the real landlords). Life together has been full of cozy chaos, takeout Thai, and far too many cat toys—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
