Our Story

Our Story

Our story began in a small town named Limerick, PA. My parents were frequent flyers to the local pizza shop as it was so convenient after late nights at basketball practices and games. Dan was one of the workers there at the time that was nothing more than a friendly face. When I first started working Dan wasn't a fan of mine and when I tell you why I think you'll find it quite funny. Before I started working there, we had become quite friendly with the staff there so I decided to make them shirts. Since I didn't know everyone's names, the ones I didn't I just made random names... well the one I gave Dan was Harry Potter and he resented me for it until he actually got to know me and knew I wasn't trying to be mean. After years of going there, I applied to be a front counter worker at the young age of 14. Then, after having to quit basketball, Bravo was my entire life. I loved working there and looking back I pushed myself more than I should have at times. One of the reasons I loved working there so much was the people, Dan being one of them. While at first, he was nothing more than a friendly face and someone I considered a friend and could joke around with, after about a year and a half, it became more than that. It all started when we first hung out outside of work on Memorial Day in 2019, and who would have thought that 4 years later we would be engaged and 5 years later we would be getting married? What felt like a little crush at first, quickly turned into the person that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and someone I deeply cared about. While my parents weren't thrilled about the age gap at first, especially since I was only 16 at the time, Dan grew on them quickly. The more and more Dan was around the family during that summer, they could tell that he was someone who truly cared for me the way I did for him. Just a few short months in and we started officially dating. While these years have flown by in the blink of an eye, it would be silly to overlook all of the highs and milestones we have accomplished by each other side as well as the lows. Some memorable highs have been Dan getting into a great job at Scatton's and watching him develop, myself starting nursing school, getting my car, watching him become an Uncle, the family traveling to Ireland and introducing him to some family even I hadn't met yet, buying a house, and getting engaged. However, with the highs also inevitably come the lows. In just the short amount of time together I have lost both of my grandparents, one being the first very close death to me. To say those were hard times would be an understatement, but he was my rock during those times and I am forever grateful for that. He also lost both of his grandmothers since we have been together, going through hard times with school and what seemed like endless almost sleepless nights leading to an eye-opening experience that could have changed both of our lives forever, and the struggle of the housing market and looking for a house for 8 months (which seemed like forever when nothing seemed to work out for us). All of this lead us to where we are now and we couldn't be happier with our home... which leads me to move in day on July 13, 2023. We had all of our amazing helpers that day to assist with the move. When we finally got everything packed in the truck and got the keys, we headed over to the house. After unpacking the entire truck we decided to take pictures as I had said previous days that I wanted to get pictures in front of the house the day we move in and I PUT UP A FIGHT. Oh Emma... now mind you we have been moving things and cleaning all day and it is 90+ degrees out so I feel and look gross. Anyway, after some hard convincing from Dan and my parents, I decided to take some pictures (just in case it was happening today I didn't want to ruin it lol). We went outside and he popped the question, while all of my friends were in the background talking about and focused on the shed that the next-door neighbor was building. THEY HAD NO IDEA HE WAS MID-PROPOSING. Obviously, I said yes, and the rest is history.
