Garris and Emma met through mutual friends at Auburn. They went to a sorority formal together at the end of their freshman year before the summer started. They both spent that summer serving at camps in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Emma was at Camp Crestridge for Girls and Garris was across the street at Camp Ridgecrest for Boys. Throughout the summer they would hang out on breaks and eventually started writing letters back and forth to each other. Once they got back to Auburn in the fall, they continued to hang out. They had their first, official date at Chappy's Deli in Auburn! They went to a concert on September 9th, 2021, and they officially started dating. They have had the joy of experiencing college together the past two years and are so excited for what the Lord has in store for their future!

It has been amazing to see how the Lord has purposefully brought them together throughout the past few years. They are thankful to have had the opportunity to spend two summers in North Carolina serving the Lord in similar capacities. Christ used those two summers to foster so much growth in their dating relationship and their relationship with Him. Emma worked at camp for a third summer while Garris had the opportunity to intern in Fairhope. The Lord continued to teach them so much through that season apart and strengthened their relationship even more. They have loved getting to build a community of people in Auburn for the past several years, and are thankful for those who have poured into them and loved them well throughout their relationship.
