Yes! We are asking our guests to dress up with us! Formal wear is requested. Formal wear for gentlemen may include a jacket and tie or traditional suit, a tuxedo is not required. For women, floor length / midi length dresses or nice cocktail dresses are encouraged. Please no jeans or sneakers. Additionally, we invite you to dress in our wedding colors! Black, dark grey, or deep navy are acceptable. See the gradient below for inspiration. We also ask that guests avoid wearing colors reserved for the bride including cream, ivory, or white.

If you are a guest staying at a wedding hotel nearby, we recommend walking to the event venues, as they are within walking distance. The church has a parking lot and street parking. For parking at the reception, there is a lot across the street from Fresko/Starbucks that is open to the public on Saturdays for free. The entrance to it is on 9th Street. There is labeled street parking (meters are paid till 9pm) or public parking garages at 9th and Locust and 8th and Mulberry that are the closest.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests, we can only accommodate those formally invited on your wedding invitation. Your invitation will be address as {Your Name} + {Guest} if a plus one has been given to you.

We love your little ones as much as you! However, we have decided to keep our wedding as adults only, unless specified otherwise on your wedding invitation. We encourage you enjoy this as a date night or evening out.

We recommend booking your hotel sooner than later! Des Moines is an area that frequently hosts large events. We have some hotel blocks listed under our 'travel' page, but in order to get the best price we recommend booking as soon as possible. Most hotels have free cancellation policy.

If you stay at the Marriott Hotel, they offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport as well as other places around Des Moines. Other hotels may have this option as well. The ceremony & reception venue are within walking distance of one another as well as most downtown hotels. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars by these locations as we will be in the heart of downtown. There are Ubers / Lyfts available if needed.

August is the peak of summer here in Iowa. Expect 70-90 degree weather. Both the ceremony & reception will take place indoors, however.

We encourage you to check out some of the cool bars and restaurants in the area! Des Moines has a lot of fun places to check out and they are all within walking distance of our ceremony & reception space! Some of our favorites are listed under the "Things to Do" tab. We encourage a little re-fresh to get ready for a night full of dancing and fun!
