The real star of the show at Hoodkroft Country Club is the high-quality 9-hole layout, which manages to be both challenging and fun for players of all ages and skillsets. With five (5) tee boxes per hole, you can play the back nine (9) from a different tee, for a unique eighteen (18) hole experience. This is truly a balanced course that will push players as they hone every aspect of their game. It's not uncommon to find yourself reaching for every club in your bag as you navigate this rolling terrain with its strategically-placed obstacles and hazards. In 1943, the owner passed away leaving Canobie Lake Park to his wife and son. They continued to operate the Park until 1957 when a fire, a robbery, a hurricane, and the decline of the Big-Band Era proved to be too overwhelming.

At a time when the more than 2,000 roller coasters in the United States had dwindled down to about 200, three close friends from New Jersey purchased the Park in March of 1958. Under this new ownership, Canobie Lake Park began to grow and expand its footprint. With a small staff, the owners themselves began to renovate the Park, including pouring the hot top through various unused pathways to create the vast paved midway you see meandering throughout the greenery today. They introduced new rides, games, and concessionaires and gave Canobie Lake Park the leading edge to still maintain, over 100 years later…New England’s Best Family Value!

More than just a restaurant, the Puritan is a sprawling complex set just outside the downtown core of New Hampshire’s largest city, Manchester. As such, it would be very easy for the visitor or passerby to miss, but to anyone who lives anywhere in the broad region surrounding it, the restaurant is an institution. It has been here since its Greek immigrant owners opened it in 1917, and it has thrived beyond all expectations. Today there is a large conference center across a large parking lot from the large main building, which in turn houses an event space for weddings and private parties, a bustling to-go and prepared foods take-out counter, an indoor/outdoor ice cream window that is part of the childhood fabric of anyone living in these parts, and the restaurant itself.

Emma's family has been going to this restaurant for over 40 years. You have to get a mudslide and the special sauce with chicken tenders.
