Our Wedding

The morning of August 18, 2023 we were about to leave our campsite in Interlaken and hike (i.e. take a gondola ride) through the small village of Stoos up to the top of Fronalpstock mountain, and camp overnight. To do said journey we couldn't take our rental car, so all the gear needed to be compiled in a few backpacks. As Emma was moving the gear around in the trunk of the car, she stuck her hand into Eli's backpack and tapped a small box. She stopped in her tracks. (They had looked at rings together earlier in the year, but since their window shopping date back in January she heard no further details). Not wanting to get her hopes up that Eli was about to propose in the mountains or ruin the surprise she didn't necessarily know was going to happen, she didn't pull the box out of the bag and didn't mention it again. Up on top of the mountain as the sun started to set, Emma emerged from the mountain top chalet to find Taryn running to get her drone and Sawyer with a big smile on his face. It was at this time Eli asked if Emma wanted to go for a walk, and in that moment she knew. We both semi-blacked out from this moment forward and struggle to remember exactly what was said. However at one point in our walk, Eli said he had a plan to walk to a specific point where the view was perfect, but said he couldn't wait any longer. They decided to run from where they were to the planned spot so Eli could get to his question faster. The easiest yes that was ever said. Later to be followed by the best bowl of instant ramen ever to be consumed while the sun set over the mountains.

A warm spring high school day, Eli attempted to teach Emma how to throw a javelin. She ended up running the 4x100m. This was the beginning.
