Emma and Andrew met their freshmen year at UNC-Chapel Hill through their church's college ministry. They started liking each other during the summer of 2021, but were too afraid to tell the other for fear of rejection. That manifested into more than a year long friendship of shared experiences, and unbeknownst to one other, their affections for each other continued to grow.

It wasn't until the fall of 2022 when Andrew had worked up the courage to tell Emma that he liked her. He realized that he would never forgive himself if he graduated without sharing his honest feelings towards Emma. Luckily for him, Emma set herself up on a silver platter! On a September night, Emma "happened to mention" a quote from a marriage book, and Andrew seized the opportunity and asked her out on a date. Four hours later they came to the mutual realization that they had both liked each other for a long time.

13 months afterwards Emma and Andrew got engaged! They are beyond excited for all that the Lord has in store for their marriage.
