Emma and Cris first met through the peer mentorship program at West Virginia University (WVU) and then became part of the same friend group through Delta Sigma Pi (a co-ed professional business fraternity both Emma and Cris held leadership roles in). During a date party, Emma announced to Cris that he will be her forever cup pong partner. Little did she know how true the forever would be.

On February 20, 2024, Cris and Emma joined their fraternity at a WVU basketball game to cheer on a fellow brother trying out for the Mountaineer Mascot. During this game, Cris made Emma fall in love with him by asking, "So what instrument did you play before..." (insert bad conducting here). For the rest of the night Emma and Cris talked, watched the game, and cheered on their brother.

On March 9th, 2024, Cris and Emma went on their first date. It was raining when Cris went to pick Emma up and he brought an umbrella to make sure she didn't get wet. They went to Cold Stone on High Street and then to Next Level Arcade.

On March 16th, 2024, Emma wanted Cris to ask her to be his girlfriend and so he did.

This is where Emma and Cris still can't agree on when they first started dating. So, they have celebrated two dates and tease each other about which day is the correct anniversary.

On July 26, 2025, Cris brought Emma on a special date. They went to Dorsey Knob and had a picnic that Cris had set up complete with one of Emma's favorite food combinations: PB&J with chocolate milk. After eating and Emma almost beating Cris in a game of war, they went up to the rock, the highest point in Morgantown. It was there that he got down on one knee and asked Emma to marry him.

Now, the story continues with all of you! We are excited to have family and friends come together to celebrate the combining of families and the union of the Carrs.
