Lance and Emma Lou never really met, there was never an introduction and pleasant small talk. Growing up in the FFA world there was just a silent knowledge of each other's existence. Instead of an introduction, Lance came into an FFA camp in the summer of 2021 swinging. By swinging, of course I mean brutally making fun of Emma Lou's poor volleyball skill. In true Emma fashion, no hesitation was needed as she fired back a witty joke at his expense. This banter continued throughout the camp up until the camp's annual dance. This is when Lou made the realization that when a 15 year old boy spends most of his day making fun of you, he probably likes you. Lance very easily convinced Emma Lou to dance the last song of the night, Wagon Wheel. It wasn't long after they texted every spare second of the day, and on September 26, 2021, after an awkward first date, they made it offical. Since then, Emma Lou and Lance have had several adventures together. Including, but not limited to, 1 State Football Championship game, 2 High School Graduations, 3 FFA State Conventions as State Officers, 8 housing moves, 200+ dates, 50,000 ish miles on our vehicles, and 1,00,000 memories. Finally, on July 26, 2025, Lance proposed to Emma Lou after checking cows in one of the Slivka family's pastures. After a sob from Emma that we can assume meant "yes," they where offically engaged. While we look back on our years of dating with true joy, we can not be more excited for this next chapter of our lives.
