Their love story begins at just another party at UMass Amherst. Emma’s standing in the corner, alone, trying to lock eyes with someone she knows, find someone to make small talk with, debating on how to be the least “awkward” version of herself. But when Will sees her standing by herself, solo cup in hand, he doesn’t see awkward. He sees a bashful, beautiful girl with red hair and blue eyes, and he can’t believe his luck that no one else has noticed her. So he introduces himself, and the rest is history. They’ve overcome a lot - from a first date that Emma invited ten friends to because she was nervous, to being separated for a year while Will was deployed in Iraq. But time and distance has nothing on these two. And when Will went down on one knee a few weeks after returning from Iraq, the whole of Zion canyon stretching out before them, Emma said yes with all her heart (after her surprised squeak of “Really?”, of course). Now they can’t wait to see where their lives will lead them next!
