Our story begins at Messiah University. A young Emma Narber met a young Si Barnes as they served on the Mount Solly RA team. Little did they know the friendships that would form that year and the eventual family that it would become. Though Emma and Si never dated that year, they became close friends, and would continually become more and more invested in each other's lives.

Often a place of refuge and safety for one another, Si and Emma always kept one another close. It wasn't until after college that these two eventually found their way back to one another. What was supposed to be a casual coffee "date" quickly turned in to a fancy Italian dinner and a prayer walk. Little did they know, since Si and Emma knew each other so well, both walked into that first date knowing there would be a second.

Si and Emma continued through a series of walks, smoothie dates, multiple-hour phone calls, and lots of stargazing. It was under the stars that eventually they decided to make it official, on the night of October 14th of 2024. What preceded this night was an entire year of laughter, adventures, cuddles, dances, prayers, silly pictures, picnics, lots of hammocking, and lots, lots more.

Some of their more memorable dates include IKEA hide-and-seek, dates to the movies (with full-course meals hidden under in big jackets), adventures on scooters, dancing in the rain, indoor picnics on the ground, arcades, presentation nights, building forts, and early morning visits as Si left night shift and Emma began her work day.

It was on a beautifully warm day in September of 2025 that Si asked Emma on one last adventure: marriage. Si and Emma are so excited for the story they have created together and look forward to all that God has in store for them. If you are reading this, it is because you had a large part in their stories, and Si and Emma are so thankful for you. They cannot wait to continue this journey and are so, so proud and excited to have you as a part of it!
