Our story began in 2018 on the campus of Youngstown State University. Emma was studying nursing, while Josh was visiting friends who attended YSU. At just 19, they were navigating the complexities of life—balancing exams, internships, and friendships. Although neither was actively seeking something serious, from their very first interaction, they sensed a special connection.

As they faced various challenges, Josh and Emma chose to follow their hearts and give their relationship a real chance. During college, Josh learned how to be a patient as Emma shared her knowledge and practiced her new nursing skills. Josh and Emma were there for each other through each taste of adversity, in and out of school. They celebrated life and enjoyed countless late nights on Slippery Rock’s campus. Somewhere between Coffaro’s Pizza, O’donold’s, and MVR, they fell in love. Their relationship felt effortless; they became best friends, partners and confidants.

Over the years, Josh and Emma have grown with each other. Emma caught the travel bug in college and shared her love for adventure with Josh, taking him on his first flight ever to Boston, Massachusetts. Josh followed Emma around the country and vowed to not slow down her adventurous heart. Josh and Emma have traveled overseas to Italy, been to the Caribbean and swam with stingrays, conquered New York and Connecticut, hiked mountains in Tennessee and relaxed on Floridian beaches. They have been to countless states on countless road trips. They have grown in their faith and are committed to putting God first in their marriage. They have overcome long distance, near and far. After many miles on a Hyundai Sonata, way too many U-hauls, and countless FaceTime calls, Josh and Emma are beyond blessed to finally be able to come together in front of God and their loved ones to commit to a lifetime together.
