“all along there was some invisible string tying you to me”

We met the summer of 2018 while working at the School in Rose Valley summer camp. Emma was preparing to move to North Carolina and Josh was getting ready to start his freshman year at Rosemont. We became fast friends at work and hung out often.

When Emma left for North Carolina a month later we both assumed we would stop talking or just stay friends. Obviously that wasn’t the case. We talked and FaceTimed every day, and took time to visit each other. Long distance for 3 years was hard, but looking back we wouldn't change a thing.

Everything became easier and more fun once Emma moved back home. We've spent countless times with each other's friends and family, at Philadelphia Union and Phillies games, at the beach, playing games (our favorite thing), traveling, and watching movies. We bought our first house in 2023 and adopted our insanely energetic puppy, Ace, in June 2024.

Josh proposed July 13, 2024 at Rose Tree Park, where we had been on dates before. Emma was totally oblivious about what was happening, and shocked that Josh could surprise her in the first place. He had our friends and family hiding so they could celebrate with us too. It was absolutely perfect.

One of the most beautiful things about our relationship is how, even if we hadn't both worked at summer camp, we probably would have still met. Josh and Emma's brother, Owen, were high school friends, and had hung out together at Emma's house while she was in college. Josh's mom went to high school with Emma's uncles, and Emma's aunt went to high school with Josh's cousin.

The world works in the most wonderful, mysterious ways, and we are so grateful for the ways it led us to each other. We can't wait to see how our story continues.
