Emma and Steven met during their first day of work. They both received a list of who was going to be in the orientation beforehand. As any millennial would, Steven Facebook stalked everyone and knew what Emma looked like (not creepy?). Both of them happened to be in the lobby at the same time and made eye contact. Steven waved his hand to start to introduce himself, but once Emma and Steven made eye contact Emma quickly looked at the ground leaving Steven with his feelings and hand in the air waving at no one.

During Orientation, Emma and Steven quickly became friends. They both shared a passion for traveling and experiencing new places. They would explore all the cities (San Fransisco, Phoenix and Denver) that Amazon shipped them to together (pun intended).

By happen stance, Emma and Steven were both selected to be Area Managers in the same Sortation Center in Portland, Oregon where their friendship continued to grow. During this time, Steven and Emma would get to know Portland and the surrounding areas together.

As Steven and Emma spent more time together, Steven realized he had feelings for Emma and they had a hard time figuring out if they should risk their friendship for something more.

After countless months of being persistent... Steven continued trying to convince Emma to give him a chance, but their friendship was too important to her. #Friendzone

During the early part of the summer, Emma started to toy with the idea of pursuing a relationship with Steven and in August asked Steven to be her date to a wedding back home in Wisconsin. Steven attended to the wedding and that same night Emma and Steven officially started dating.

Now the curve-ball... Emma and Steven wanted to switch career paths. Emma was the first one to find a job she liked in Advertising, which moved her to Chicago (Pictured: Steven and Emma in Wisconsin after driving Emma's things from Portland). Steven tried to find a job in Chicago with Amazon, but options were limited and ended up with a role in Seattle, WA... You can't make this up.

and Italy... Although long distance was fun (not), Steven and Emma knew they wanted to live with each other. Emma was able to work internally to relocate to Seattle with a promotion (of course haha). And in June 2019 they moved in together in Seattle.

They would continue to experience the world and what it has to offer, but this time together without distance in between.

For Emma and Steven, life is one big adventure and they continued to travel and experience new places around them (Alaska, Hawaii, the Olympics, the Cascades, Crater Lake (pictured)).

In 2021, during the pandemic they took time to re-evaluate where they wanted their next adventure to take them and landed on moving to Washington DC to be closer to family and old friends. Before moving, they planned an epic cross country roadtrip down the west coast to save goodbye to this chapter in style.

In July 2021, they received a call from the Salem Police department informing them their stuff was in a storage locker in Salem, Oregon and in fact not in a truck to Washington DC. The hired moving company was a part of a nationwide scam holding people's things hostage and never actually moving their belongings. Amidst the stress, in September 2021, Steven and Emma handled the situation with grace. They flew to Portland, Oregon and retrieved their things before starting to make their way across the country.

During the trip, they stopped in one of their favorite places, Hood River. It was a place where Emma and Steven would visit when they lived in Portland and was a place of serenity during the chaos of retrieving their stolen things. 6 days and 14 states later, they made it back to DC and started the next chapter of their adventure.

In June 2022, Steven orchestrated a surprise engagement for Emma. Steven popped the question at Kangaroo Lake in Door County, Wisconsin (Emma's favorite place in the whole world) with all of their parents watching and then surprised her with about 20 friends who took the time to fly/drive in from all over the country to celebrate. The weekend was filled with a lot of love and we're excited to continue the story with all of you soon.
