Gentry and Emma met at Watershed (a 3-day country music festival) at the Gorge in Eastern Washington. Emma was camping with a group of girls and they figured having some muscle and masculine energy might deter weirdos and unwanted attention at the campground, so Gentry and some of his friends were recruited to join the camping group. After Emma literally took the words out of Gentry's mouth mid-sentence, the two hit it off and continued talking and hanging out once they returned to Pullman to start the school year at WSU. They went on a gym date (that Gentry let go on way too long), a bagel shop date (because it was one of three things Gentry memorized about Emma), a classic Palouse sunset date (after consulting with Emma's friends), and a few fraternity events before they made their relationship official. Between studying for their college classes, football games, intramural sports (after Gentry got reinstated), equestrian team events, and trash-talking fueled ski trips to Schweitzer, they made time to develop their relationship. Through the turmoil of the COVID-19 pandemic, they graduated from WSU and started their careers. Gentry is a Civil Engineer working at Keller Associates focusing on transportation, and Emma is a Research Specialist managing a lab at University of Idaho, as well as pursuing her Master's degree in Biology. When they aren't working, the two of them love to travel around the Pacific Northwest to go on adventures together such as backpacking, hiking, camping, and skiing. But life isn't all about adventures - and they both enjoy spending time together in Moscow, attending local events, enjoying the farmer's market most Saturday mornings in the summer, lifting and golfing (Gentry), and gardening (Emma). They love their little life and family of fur babies: the cats Sylvie and Tank, and the rabbit, Jasper.
