What do I need to travel to the Dominican Republic?

You will need:

- US Passport: valid for at least 6 months after arrival

- Dominican e-Ticket: QR code issued by Dominican Republic Immigration office required prior to departure from United States with valid travel dates

Visas are not required for stays shorter than 30 days. We recommend making copies of all your travel documents in case of emergencies.

WHAT IS THE DOMINICAN ETICKET?

The e-Ticket acts as an entry and exit card for each passenger. It is also a Customs Declaration Form and a Travel Health Affidavit. Without completing this mandatory step, you cannot enter the Dominican Republic. You will also not be permitted to leave the country if you do not have a valid e-Ticket to exit.

WHEN SHOULD I GET A DOMINICAN ETICKET?

You can apply for the Dominican e-Ticket anytime. We recommend applying in advance for peace of mind. You should expect to receive your approved Dominican e-Ticket by email in 1-2 business days.

WHERE DO I GET A DOMINICAN ETICKET?

The Dominican e-Ticket application form is 100% online. You can access the form from any electronic device with an internet connection. You only need to provide some basic personal information and details about your trip, including passport and flight information.

Do I need any vaccines to travel to the Dominican Republic?

The CDC recommendation is to be up-to-date on all of the routine vaccinations, including:

• Chickenpox (Varicella)

• Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis

• Flu (influenza)

• Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR)

• Polio, Shingles,

• Hepatitis A

If you're younger than 60 years old, it's highly recommended that you get a Hepatitis B vaccination before you go.

Infants 6 to 11 months old traveling internationally should get one dose of the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine before the trip. Please note this dose doesn't count as part of the routine childhood vaccination series. Infants 6 to 11 months old should also be vaccinated against Hepatitis A. The dose doesn't count toward the routine 2-dose series.

CAN I DRINK THE WATER IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC?

Tap water is not safe. It is recommended that you drink bottled water.

What Currency is needed in the Dominican Republic?

The local currency in Punta Cana is the Dominican Peso (DOP). However, US dollars are widely accepted and are often the preferred method of tipping. If you choose to bring the local currency, that's absolutely fine as well. Currency exchange services are available at the airport and the resort for your convenience. We recommend having a mix of both US dollars and Dominican Pesos to cater to various situations during your stay.

Are there any events scheduled at the resort?

Yes! We invite all of our guests to attend our Welcome Party on Thursday, December 5th, 2024 from 6:00 PM–8:00 PM on the Sky Terrace.

On our Wedding Day, Friday, December 6th, 2024, the Ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM on the Preferred Beach, and will be immediately followed by the Cocktail Hour (also on the Preferred Beach). The Reception will be held at the Macao Plaza.

What local excursions and activities are available?

Punta Cana offers many different activities, from water sports to excursions. Check out the About the Destination page for a list of recommended activities. The resort concierge can also assist with bookings and suggestions.

What will the weather be like in Punta Cana in December?

December in Punta Cana is pretty hot! You can look forward to warm temperatures and a lovely tropical breeze. Daytime highs usually reach the mid-80s°F (around 29-30°C), and evenings are comfortably cool with lows in the mid-70s°F (around 23-24°C). While there might be a brief rain shower now and then, overall, December tends to be a dry and sunny month. So, pack your sunscreen and get ready to soak up the sun!

What if a wedding event is rained out?

The celebration will continue! The resort has a range of back-up indoor locations, so make sure to check this website and your email in case of change-of-venue due to rain.

What should I pack?

We recommend packing breathable, light clothing. The dress code at the resort's restaurants range from Beach/Pool casual (swimsuits with cover-ups, flip flops or sandals) to more Formal attire (sneakers/tennis shoes or dress sandals, dress shirts with short sleeves or collared shirts; no sleeveless shirts or flip-flops). Some restaurants may require long pants and collared shirts for men, and blouses, skirts, pants, or dresses with dress shoes for women.

Don't forget your essentials for enjoying the Caribbean beaches – pack your swimsuits, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and mosquito repellent.

What is the dress code for the wedding events?

The dress code is dressy-casual, and we encourage you to lean into the beachy atmosphere. For the beachfront ceremony itself, we suggest you kick off your shoes and go barefoot!

Are children invited to the wedding events?

We're thrilled to celebrate our special day with you in Punta Cana! To create an intimate and memorable ceremony, we have chosen to invite only the children of our immediate family. However, if you're planning to bring your little ones along for a family vacation, you're more than welcome! For the wedding events, we kindly request that only the children specifically mentioned by name on the invitation join us. If you have children, not mentioned on the invitation, we recommend arranging childcare through the resort or otherwise.

Fortunately, the resort offers a babysitting service for children of all ages, and you can coordinate directly with them to ensure your kids are well taken care of while you celebrate with us. Additionally, the resort has a fantastic kids club for children aged 3-12, open from 9:30 AM- 10:00 PM. This way, your little ones can have a blast in a supervised and entertaining environment while you enjoy our wedding festivities. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!
