Talk about when you know you know!

Sometimes people are hidden in plain site. Emma and Will met in the hallway of their dorm randomly the first day she moved back to Northwestern for her second year, after having an eventful summer she had been excited to get back to some normalcy, at least that's what she thought she would be getting. If you are close with Emma you know she is always planning and you know that in the fall of 2022 falling in love wasn't exactly in her plans. But this is when Gods plan becomes a little more clear in both Emma and Wills lives.

When Emma and Will met in a group, conversation sparked up between the two of them. A decision was made to be friends for life because they both shared the same birthday, just a year apart. But the spark died quickly when next Will mentioned he had a girlfriend from back home. Good thing they decided to be just friends!

Not long after this, Emma and Will ran into each other again after Will was at a concert. She asked if his girlfriend also attended, too which Will said "no that had been over for a little bit". Emma said "Good!! now you can get a hobby". It wasn't long after that night they started to see each other everywhere.

One night Will found Emma working on some homework with friends. He felt like she needed a break, so clearly a little healthy competition was in order... iMessage 8 ball. If your wondering who won, Emma.. twice. Then iMessage basketball, then they found themselves in the game room, tell 2 am playing air hockey. By this time all their friends had left and gone to bed. Neither one of them had noticed and when it was finally time to split at the stairwell, the spark was reunited. And two days later Emma and Will are attending "Revival Nights" at Pulse headquarters. The security guard Zack (who had been a friend of Emmas) met Will and clearly saw there was a spark. He shared with them the value of investing in your husband and wife. This is a core memory for them. Along with the night they realize that they have met before! 6 months earlier on April 7th Will was visiting Northwestern and having lunch with the coaches, Emma sitting at a nearby table was captivated by Will and walked right up to him and introduced herself.

By the end of the week after late nights talking in the park and a sushi date Will was quick to not let Emma go and make things official September 24th.

If you ask them both they would say that 24 hours into the relationship they were ready to say I love you. But instead they waited about a month. Ask them about that story !

They blinked and 6 wild months had gone by. They had taken up every hobby under the sun, top golf trips, worship nights, diy chef nights and snowboarding/skiing to name a few. Which unfortunately led Will to an accident involving a tree. But Emma was quick to stand by his side and help him with recovery. In this time they learned what it meant to serve the person you love.

But speaking of 6 months, their first "milestone" of half a year Will and Emma both come to their sushi date with something on their heart. The desire to get married.

Will and Emma are choosing to invest in each others lives forever as one, committing to what the Lord has called for both of them and excited to invest in those around them!
