The year was 2017. It was a hot summer day at the Community Activity Center in Flower Mound, TX (aka the CAC). With their fanny packs strapped, shades on, sunscreen lathered, and lifeguard whistles ready to blow, Bryce and Emma were geared up for another day of saving lives and taking names. Little did they know that years later they would share the same last name…

It wasn’t just the sun’s blaze beating down on the pavement pool deck that was making Bryce and Emma perspire that day. Perhaps, it was the looks of longing they gave each other across the lazy river accompanied by flirting and banter in the break room that prompted their love story to blossom. It only took one first date at Chilis and a few kayaking adventures to jumpstart a lifetime of love and laughter. Well, two months… You see, Bryce and Emma shared a whirlwind two month relationship their senior year of high school before breaking up. They both agreed to “stay friends” (lol, yeah right) which ensued a year of dates disguised as events - a term Emma used to hide the fact that she was falling in love with her ex.

The whole “staying friends” thing wasn’t working out too well, so on December 10th, 2018, Emma and Bryce became official again. Five years later, on December 15th, 2023, Bryce popped the question and Emma replied through hysterical tears,

“Oh my God! Shit! Yes!”
