Our Wedding

Emma: I met Micah on January 8, 2023, at a young adult's worship night hosted by friends from our church. I was still new to the church, so of everyone there, I only knew the friend who invited me. Micah came in a little late and played his violin as we sang. I remember the first thing I ever heard Micah say was something he'd learned from a former pastor: If we die to ourselves every day to live for Jesus, then the reality of ever having to surrender our lives for Jesus' Name would be easy because we would have done it every day before then. I was so encouraged and impressed by his words of wisdom! After we were done singing, I was introduced to Micah, and we immediately hit it off. I met many people that night but probably talked to Micah more than anyone else. Besides putting me on the spot to share an embarrassing story with everyone, Micah made me feel welcomed and at ease. I called my mom after the event to tell her how it went and said, "I really like that lawyer guy!"

Micah: Unsurprisingly, I met Emma on January 8, 2023, at a young adult's worship night hosted by friends from our church. I drove back from Greenville, SC that afternoon with violin in tow for the gathering and arrived late. So, I quickly went inside, unpacked my violin, and joined the musicians playing music. My eyes wandered while playing, and I noticed Emma standing in the back of the room, but I could not see her very well, and my attention soon came back to the next song we were singing. Afterward, I went to the back of the room, which was by the kitchen, to grab a drink and met this beautiful, gentle, sweet, kind... (insert all the positive adjectives) Emma Wood. She told me she was from Auburn, AL, to which I quickly responded that I rooted for the real tigers (LSU, of course), and our conversation continued toward other matters. We soon parted to other areas of the room, but later that evening, I spoke to a mutual friend of mine and Emma's and asked, "Who is that girl?" It only took one more time to talk with her before I decided to ask her out, and on the charmed third interaction, I asked her to coffee, and she accepted. The rest is history (for more details, feel free to ask me, and I will probably take several hours to tell you about how God brought us together!... Not really joking!).
