Gabe and Emma met during their freshman year of college at Thomas More University. They shared the same history class and sat next to each other. What started as Emma helping Gabe with his homework to then becoming friends soon turned into more. They started dating long distance when the university shut down in spring 2020 due to Covid. They continued to date long distance for 9 months till Gabe could travel back to the US for school. They spent their time at school together sharing friends, going to church together and having fun. Gabe and Emma graduated together May 2023. Emma went home to Ohio and Gabe went home to Panama. They are still going long distance till they are married.

Gabe proposed to Emma December 7th, 2023, in Panama. Although Emma may have expected it to be coming, she was surprised when it happened. Gabe took Emma for a tandem bike ride on a board walk overlooking the city of Panama and the ocean. Gabe knows how much Emma loves the ocean and city view, so this was the perfect spot. It was a private proposal that they both shared together. One of the best days of Emma and Gabe's life.
