First off, Emmilyne and my love story wouldn’t be where it’s at today without Madison (my sister in-law), Emma (Emmilyne’s friend), and whoever invented blind dates.

Last summer, Madison and Emma started scheming the best plan to set us up! Madison sent me a few photos of Emmilyne and Emma sent Emmilyne a few photos of me. The only issue was at that time Emmilyne and I were living 2,583 miles apart. I thought she was an absolute babe, but with the distance and a busy life I pushed things off to the Fall when we would both be back at college in Utah.

I must have some crazy memory loss, because after a few months, I had forgotten about the date I was supposed to set up with her. But . . . Thanks to God's perfect plan and Emmilyne wanting me SO BAD . . . she took matters into her own hands (just like our first kiss) and got Emma and Madison to tell me that Emmilyne was making the 2 hour drive to come up to Logan in a few days. I sent her a text, asked her on a date, and BAM! the rest is history. Kind of. I actually had zero clue that Emmilyne was coming to Logan just to go on a date with me! I thought she was just visiting some friends, so, like any courteous young man, I took her on a quick 40 minute date to get some ice cream and then dropped her back off at her friend's house in Logan 😬. After driving 4 hours and missing two days of school, all for an underwhelming date, Emmilyne thought I wasn’t very interested. Little did she know, I called Madison 30 seconds after I dropped off Emmilyne and I told her it was the best date I’ve ever been on!

I quickly made plans to drive down to Provo that weekend and visit Emmilyne. Thankfully, she gave me a second chance, we started talking on the phone each night and our second date blew our first date out of the water. We dated “long distance” for a few months before I decided to move to Orem to be closer to her.

Ever since Emmilyne has been a part of my life, every day has been better than the day before. We love to road trip, exercise together, and hangout with our friends. We are so excited about our future together and can’t wait for all of the special memories to come!
